Gunnison, CO 81230
A look at the famed Taylor Park region of the Gunnison country. The start is in Gunnison and then to Almont for breakfast. Then it is on to Taylor Park, where the first miners entered the Gunnison country.
Included is a tour of the Taylor Dam, a stop at the site where a bomber crashed during World War II and a look at Union Park and the placer diggings of Fred Lottis in 1861. From there, it is on to Tin Cup and a talk at the Tin Cup Town Hall, a stop at the Taylor Park Trading Post and a drive to Dorchester at the north end of the park. Return to Gunnison via Spring Creek, Harmel’s and Almont.
