Sociology, Spirituality, and the Struggle for Justice: A Personal Pilgrimage

This Wednesday evening, we are fortunate to host the accomplished social scientist Jay MacLeod – author of Ain’t No Makin’ It: Aspirations and Attainment in a Low-Income Neighborhood and Minds Stayed on Freedom: The Civil Rights Struggle in the Rural South, an Oral History – for a special engagement at 7:00pm this Wednesday, Feb. 27 in KEL 116. His talk is titled “Sociology, Spirituality, and the Struggle for Justice: A Personal Pilgrimage” and will include audience Q&A. His work is influential in debates about poverty, class, race, and social mobility in the U.S.
