The School of Business Speaker Series for November is John Friesen. Since his earliest years working alongside his father and managing their family business, John's always appreciated professional challenges and thrived in fast-paced environments. Now he's spearheading business development as executive chairman at The Friesen Group, a multi-generational company with a portfolio of successful businesses currently focused on healthcare and real estate. As John embarks on my next chapter of life, he's finding the greatest joy in continuing his involvement with his companies while also being active with my two boys, sharing adventures like rally racing and motocross, and helping others in our community with a focus on youth. In 2019, John had the privilege of founding The Friesen Foundation, a community-focused organization serving North State communities. He's been actively involved in shaping the foundation's vision and impact. They're currently developing strategic grant-making programs to support a broad range of initiatives, from outdoor recreation to youth. John will speak about his career path through his MBA, navigating work-life balance, and his experience working in a family business.
