Visiting film professor Julian Rubinstein's award-winning documentary THE HOLLY will play one night for free at the Majestic Theater in Crested Butte as part of the Melanin Mountain Film Festival celebrating Black cinema. Julian and main subject Terrance Roberts will be there for a Q&A following the screening. Filmed over eight years during the rerpoting of Rubinstein's nationally acclaimed book of the same name, THE HOLLY goes deep inside a gentrifying comunity in Denver, where a shooting involving an activist becomes a window into the political machinations of urban development, policing and the city's gang activity.
