MLK Day of Service

Every Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, a group of Western students is proud to host a day of service in Dr. King’s name. Thousands of students and community members across the country will participate in this national holiday by doing community service to translate Dr. King’s dreams into actions. We are calling all change makers at Western and in the Gunnison Valley to reflect on gains won during the Civil Rights Movement and to address contemporary issues facing our nation through performing individual acts of kindness through service to others.

Everyone is welcome to participate! Show up at 10:00am for check-in on Monday, Jan. 20 at the University Center Ballroom ready to serve Gunnison’s community.

For all questions, please contact Program Coordinator for Community Engagement, Annie Westbury, or 970.943.2095
