Join Western's low-residency Graduate Program in Creative Writing and our new Poetry Director, Elizabeth Bradfield for this one hour master class! Free, hosted on Zoom. Pre-register to attend at this link

William Blake and many poets of the Dada movement bring image and text together into their practice, and with today's technologies, many contemporary poets are doing so, too. In this master class, we will look closely at poem+image work that writers such as Robin Coste Lewis, Diana Khoi Nguyen, JoAnne McFarland, Victoria Chang, Ross Gay, and others have created--as well as Broadsided's annual Switcheroo. You'll leave with a reading list and a list of ideas to try in your notebooks. Elizabeth Bradfield’s seven books include SOFAR: Poems (forthcoming in August), which includes poems that appeared in The Atlantic Monthly, The Sun, and Orion; Interpretive Work, which won the Audre Lorde Prize in Lesbian Poetry; Toward Antarctica: An Exploration; and the co-created Cascadia Field Guide: Art, Ecology, Poetry, winner of a Pacific Northwest Book Award. Editor-in-chief of Broadsided and a former Wallace Stegner Fellow, Liz directs the Poetry Concentration for Western Colorado University’s MFA program and works as a naturalist and field assistant at home on Cape Cod. www.ebradfield.com
