Unfortunately, temperatures will be unseasonably mild on Thursday and Friday with temperatures in the 50’s.  Understandably, this is not conducive to ensuring that we have a safe Rail Jam event.  Please know we are considering an alternative program late afternoon/early evening on Friday, February 27^th to gather our community and celebrate what makes Western so incredibly special, OUR PEOPLE!  Stay tuned for more information. 

17 years past, a visionary group of Mountaineers created the Western Campus Rail Jam. This event changed the path for diverse Western students alike: some who had skied or snowboarded their whole lives, but especially for those who had only heard the murmurs. The event generates so much buzz for skiing that it can lead a few individuals to “send-it” and become a crew on the slopes. The event highlights the ever-growing culture of Western Colorado University’s (WCU) link to outdoor recreation. This event has allowed Western students to compete against one another in sliding rails, throwing rad tricks, and showing off their personal steeze.
